PM Modi’s US visit, IPL 2021

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit to the United States ( PM Modi’s US visit ) , starting Thursday, for a bilateral meeting with President Joe Biden and to attend the historic Quad summit. Later, he is scheduled to travel to New York to address the UN General Assembly on Saturday. PM Modi is also scheduled to meet US Vice President Kamala Harris later today. PM Modi and President Biden will be joined by their counterparts from Australia and Japan for the first-ever in-person Quad Summit.

PM Modi will head to the White House to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris. The two leaders will “explore opportunities for cooperation between our two nations particularly in the area of science and technology”.

He is also slated to hold one-on-one meetings with the CEOs of Qualcomm, Adobe, First Solar, Blackstone and First Atomics to highlight economic opportunities in India.

PM Narendra Modi landed in Washington today for a three-day visit to the US, his first in two years. He is expected to hold talks with Australian and Japanese counterparts Scott Morrison and Yoshihide Suga in the coming days.

First in-person meeting with US President Joe Biden

Earlier this week, the White House announced that US President Joe Biden would host PM Modi at his official residence on Friday. This will be Modi’s first in-person meeting with Biden in his new capacity. They are expected to discuss a range of regional issues and developments, from Afghanistan, counter-terrorism, Covid-19 to China.

Former India fast bowler Irfan Pathan lauded Shreyas Iyer for focussing on his game on returning to the Indian Premier League for the first time in nearly a year after the Delhi Capitals batsman hit a match-winning 47 not out against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021 on Wednesday.

Former India pacer Irfan Pathan also lauded Rishabh Pant, saying the young wicketkeeper-batsman is maturing as captain for Delhi Capitals in the ongoing season. Pant and Iyer stitched a 67-run stand as DC hammered Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets on Wednesday in Dubai.
